A Simple Guide to Sympathy Flowers

What to send: Sympathy arrangements, standing sprays, casket flowers, or a simple bouquet for the family's home. There is no wrong choice — what matters is that you reached out.

When to send: Flowers can go to the funeral home before the service, to the family's home afterward, or even weeks later when the quiet sets in. There's no deadline on kindness.

Who typically orders: Close friends, extended family, coworkers, neighbors, church communities. If you're wondering whether you should send flowers, the answer is almost always yes.

  • Sympathy Arrangements

Thoughtful vase arrangements delivered to the family's home. Soft colors, seasonal blooms, and a handwritten card from you. A quiet way to say you're thinking of them.

  • Funeral Flowers

Standing sprays, casket pieces, and service arrangements delivered directly to the funeral home. We coordinate timing and placement so you don't have to worry about logistics.

  • Celebration of Life

Arrangements that honor who they were — their favorite colors, flowers from their garden, or blooms that carry a memory. Designed for tables, altars, or memorial displays.

  • Memorial & Remembrance

For anniversaries, birthdays, or the days that hit hardest. A single bouquet delivered to a doorstep can mean everything. Grief doesn't follow a calendar, and neither do we.

A Note from Adrienne

I've made arrangements for families on the hardest days of their lives. I don't take that lightly. When you call or write, I'll listen first. We'll talk about the person you lost — what they loved, what mattered to them — and I'll create something that feels right. There's no sales pitch here. Just a neighbor who grows flowers and wants to help.

Questions

Sympathy Flowers FAQ

Can I request specific flowers?

Absolutely. If your loved one had a favorite flower, color, or style, tell us and we'll do everything we can to include it. Seasonal availability may affect exact varieties, but we'll always honor the spirit of your request. Our farm grows over 100 varieties, and we source what we can't grow.

Do you deliver to funeral homes?

Yes, we deliver to all funeral homes in the Bozeman, Belgrade, and greater Gallatin Valley area. We coordinate directly with the funeral home on timing and placement so the flowers are there when the family arrives. Just let us know the service details.

How much should I spend on sympathy flowers?

There's no right amount. A $40 hand-tied bouquet carries just as much love as a $150 standing spray. Most sympathy arrangements fall between $50 and $150. What matters is the gesture, not the price tag. We'll work with whatever budget feels comfortable for you.

How quickly can you prepare sympathy flowers?

We understand that loss doesn't wait. We can often prepare and deliver sympathy arrangements within 24 hours during our growing season (May through October). Off-season, we work with our sourcing partners to fulfill orders as quickly as possible. Call us directly for urgent requests.

What should I write on the card?

Keep it simple and honest. "Thinking of you," "With love and sympathy," or "[Name] meant so much to us" are all perfect. You don't need eloquent words — the flowers and your name on the card say everything. We include a handwritten card with every arrangement.
